2020-2022

Led a dynamic global advanced analytics team that consisted of skilled data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and architects. My team was entrusted with the crucial responsibility of delivering client engagements encompassing a wide array of competencies. These competencies ranged from clinical data management and customer data curation (both primary and secondary) to data visualization, data annotation, and intricate customer journey analytics. Additionally, my team’s responsibilities extended to community management and seamless integration with third-party software solutions, such as customer relationship management systems like Salesforce and loyalty management platforms.

Managed Value Realization Office (VRO), to execute  engagements. The experience spanned areas like data science, artificial intelligence / machine learning, competitive intelligence, corporate development, customer experiences, and the development of customer data platforms. 

Managed teams and partners for research and development initiatives. The initiatives harnessed a variety of cutting-edge technologies. For instance, we employed reinforcement learning algorithms to intelligently nudge customers, physicians, and patients. The work also involved deep learning algorithms, leveraging natural language processing (NLP), voice, and computer vision (CV) data to glean predictive behavioral insights from customers, patients, and physicians. Moreover, we delved into areas like face recognition for emotions and sentiment analysis, unsupervised learning algorithms for customer churn and market segmentation, and supervised learning algorithms for analyzing customer lifetime value and multi-channel attribution.

Developed AI/ML solutions to solve complex business challenges. The role encompassed conducting a wide range of tasks for  market opportunity assessments, product commercialization or pricing, product adoption, concept evaluation, A/B testing, need assessment through choice drivers, customer segmentation, and comprehensive customer feedback management. The efforts were in collaboration with globally recognized organizations from diverse sectors including healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, retail, and manufacturing.

I’ve been entrusted with the responsibility of conceptualizing and creating digital workplace solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the GCC. This includes initiatives like enhancing employee feedback management, designing enterprise performance management dashboards, implementing robotics process automation, and crafting immersive learning experiences through virtual reality-based learning management systems. Additionally, I’ve overseen projects aimed at optimizing candidate experiences, establishing a digital façade for corporate branding, and more.

Leading a dedicated digital innovation team, I’ve taken the helm in developing minimum viable products (MVPs) for an array of digital assets. These span from enterprise mobility solutions and location-based services to biometric authentication services, conversational bots, blockchain for interbank payments, advanced cryptography, and sophisticated business analytics.

My collaboration extended to partnering with senior stakeholders throughout the bank. Together, we ideated and explored innovative concepts, harnessing cutting-edge technology-driven research and transformative capabilities. I championed forward-thinking approaches and facilitated transformative initiatives, even spearheading enterprise-wide hackathon programs. An additional aspect of my role involved identifying and nurturing these ideas as valuable intellectual property assets.

Furthermore, I established and managed the operations of the corporate start-up accelerator in India, cultivating a pipeline for open innovations that propel the bank forward.

2013-2015

I initiated the development of a technology architecture practice from the ground up, focusing on delivering comprehensive big data and business intelligence consulting services. This encompassed activities like streamlining data warehouses, crafting innovative data lake designs, architecting robust big data solutions, and mapping out digital transformation roadmaps. My role extended to nurturing growth within key accounts, strategically expanding our analytics service offerings across diverse industry verticals.

Leading the team, I brought together a group of highly experienced technology professionals, each boasting an average of 20 years of specialized expertise within the Big Data and BI domain. Guiding this seasoned team, I facilitated the provision of premium consulting services. This encompassed a spectrum of activities, ranging from crafting and implementing cutting-edge Big Data and Cloud-based Data Warehousing solutions to the strategic streamlining of intricate business application portfolios.

Our initiatives extended further to include the phased decommissioning of critical legacy applications, the seamless rollout of cloud-integrated business solutions, the establishment of robust business data lakes, and the meticulous optimization of data warehouses

Furthermore, I took the lead in heading the innovation council, a pivotal entity entrusted with executing technology asset management endeavors across all Business Intelligence Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in India. By capitalizing on the strengths of esteemed partners like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, Teradata, Pivotal, Cloudera, SAS, Tableau, Qlikview, Spotfire, and others, we adeptly harnessed innovation to propel advancement of our services. Steering strategic valuation, crafting solution blueprints and roadmaps, envisioning and implementing proof of concepts, and appraising tools and technologies for client specific problems all fell within my realm of responsibility.

2007-2013

I spearheaded the enterprise architecture consulting practice, driving dynamic business growth across previously unexplored regions (IMEA) while aligning with our overarching business goals. I substantially elevated the sales momentum in the region, through comprehensive understanding of the sales cycle, competitive product positioning, adept business relationship management within specific accounts and creating a robust deals pipeline to enhance the region’s sales performance.

I initiated an ongoing enhancement of the consulting services operating model, transitioning it from being resource-driven to being product focused and to deliver value-based business outcomes. As a crucial member of the pursuit team, I played a pivotal role in numerous complex offshoring bids. My dedication , as a partner, was centered on fueling growth and profitability within the regional consulting practice. This journey was marked by the successful delivery of numerous high-profile client engagements, including:

– Conducting a comprehensive Enterprise Architecture (EA) Maturity Assessment (KSA), defining a maturity assessment framework and evaluating the EA organization’s maturity across people, process, technology, and governance.

– Developing strategic IT options for growth, efficiency, and differentiation for the CIO organization, as a part of IT Strategy and eventually receiving a letter of appreciation from the CIO!

– Defining a tool-enabled Application Portfolio Management (APM) process for the EA office and establishing a baseline for the existing portfolio.

– Identifying and establishing computation methods and sources for strategic, tactical, and operational level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for tracking IT operations on a CIO dashboard through the Enterprise Architecture Dashboard (KSA).

– Defining target operating models and processes for global production support and shared services based on best practices from process frameworks such as CMMI, ITIL, and COBIT for Global Production Support (Singapore).

– Conducting application portfolio assessments for “outsourcing readiness,” data center consolidation, and knowledge transfer for Data Center Consolidation (Australia).

– Leading multi-year outsourcing bid due diligence activities for multiple clients in the US to identify IT transformation business cases for Outsourcing Due Diligence (US).

– Rationalizing application portfolios for Electronic Payments, Consumer Products, and International Cash Management in the Netherlands, earning the “All-For-The-Best” award for excellence and the development of a software tool for Application Portfolio Rationalization (APR).

– Managing the CTO Centre’s enterprise architecture services program in the UK, with the CTO Centre’s delivery model receiving recognition from Forbes and the Wipro Applied Innovation Award.

– Calculating IT asset carbon footprints, conceptualizing change management programs, and creating a Green IT dashboard for assessing long-term sustainability goals in Green IT (UAE).

– Analyzing SCM processes and underlying supporting IT applications to identify operational challenges for resolution through ERP implementation in Business Process Architecture (UAE).

– Analyzing de-merger and privatization proposals, exploring the potential for a joint venture with a holding company’s shared services IT unit for providing IT services to divested/de-merged business entities in Joint Venture Feasibility (KSA).

– Conducted market research, crafted marketing collaterals, and conceptualized consulting frameworks, toolkits, and methodologies. Managed competitive benchmarking and the industrialization of our portfolio of enterprise architecture consulting services.

– Conceptualized and developed an open-source software platform (utilizing technologies like Pentaho Business Intelligence, PHP, and MySQL) for delivering automated advisory services such as Enterprise Architecture Assessments, Sustainable IT Assessments, Application Portfolio Rationalization, and Application Architecture Assessments.

Throughout my journey, I received multiple recognitions and rewards for my contributions, including the Best Practice Manager award, IMEA Deal Champion award, Award for Sales Contribution, and the Award for the Most Innovative Solution.

2004-2007

I started a boutique innovation consulting firm with a dedicated focus on addressing the unique requirements of corporate R&D units. My primary objective was to provide a comprehensive array of specialized services, encompassing patent drafting, patent analytics, exploring patent design alternatives, conducting patent valuation, overseeing patent portfolio management, and conducting Freedom to Operate (FTO) studies. I tailored our offerings to cater to the needs of the esteemed clients such as HAL, BEML, Ashok Leyland, Indian Oil Corporation, NAL, and other notable entities.

One notable accomplishment involved orchestrating a series of impactful in-house and public workshops that revolved around the theme of ‘Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights’. These workshops were strategically designed for senior and mid-level management executives, equipping them with valuable insights to foster innovation and a deeper understanding of the intricacies of intellectual property rights.

Served as a visiting faculty member, that enabled me to contribute to academia by designing and delivering innovative problem-solving and product design courses, at esteemed educational institutions, including the Indian Institute of Science, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, and NTTF. This commitment to academia further amplified my dedication to cultivating an environment of promoting TRIZ based innovation within educational settings.

In the pursuit of innovation, I conceived and developed certain software tools for patent analysis. These tools were meticulously engineered to efficiently manage ideas, streamline patent application drafting process, facilitate patentability analyses for inventions, and optimize patent portfolio management. This endeavor was a testament to my unwavering dedication to seamlessly integrating TRIZ based technological solutions into the realm of intellectual property management.

2003-2004

As the leader of the subsidiary company in India, operating under the umbrella of the parent organization based in Belgium, I managed the business operations with a keen focus on continuous improvement. I steered the Indian entity, which specialized in providing R&D outsourcing and software product development services on a global scale.

Central to my role was the strategic recruitment, training and management of a high-performing team comprised of over 70 researchers and software engineers. This cohesive unit was instrumental in conceiving and developing the flagship software product, while also delivering cutting-edge innovation research services to an esteemed clientele. Notable customers, including Rolls Royce, Boon Adam, LG, Sanyo, Motorola, and Xerox, entrusted us with their projects.

My prowess extended to defining dynamic processes and assembling teams tailored for patent-driven innovation and research services. Moreover, I actively contributed to the implementation of systematic innovation process. This involved seamlessly embedding TRIZ within our customers’ internal lean and six-sigma programs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As part of this initiative, I spearheaded series of corporate innovation conferences and workshops for engineers and scientists. These services empowered our customers, such as GE, Wipro, Infosys, L&T, Honeywell, and MindTree, to integrate TRIZ based methodologies into their mainstream innovation practices. These experiences sums up the commitment to both organizational growth and industry-wide advancements.

2000-2003

I was honored to be selected as a technical business advisor, an essential role within the European sales team based in London (UK). This opportunity allowed me to collaborate closely in devising and presenting compelling proposals for outsourcing and offshoring application development and maintenance services. One of the early achievements in my journey was my pivotal role in crafting multi-channel unified enrolment solutions tailored for benefits management products and services, for a leading healthcare service provider in the US, specializing in traditional and consumer-directed health care insurance. This perhaps was one of the significant milestones in my career.

My involvement extended to playing a part in the development of software tool dedicated to business process and application architecture modeling. This endeavor not only challenged my technical acumen but also earned me a prestigious corporate innovation award in 2003, in recognition of the successful testing and deployment of the innovative software engineering tool.

I undertook the responsibility of evaluating the application security architecture of third-party CRM software products. This analysis was a key step in facilitating the acquisition and integration of a third party product/source code with the existing core banking solution platform.

My contributions stretched into various enterprise-wide initiatives, each reflecting my commitment to incremental and disruptive innovation. I played a part in assessing e-learning solution, developing a comprehensive “Function Point”-based software effort estimation framework, creating a robust multi-criteria software evaluation framework, and even authoring research papers on collaborative technologies and customer relationship management and a book on decision engineering. Additionally, I was involved in the creation of an innovative ‘Application Portfolio Management’ software tool, for total outsourcing due-diligence.

1998-2000

I had the privilege of spearheading the successful implementation of a cutting-edge B2B E-Commerce software solution tailored for MRO E-procurement at one of the world’s foremost chemical suppliers. My role encompassed the comprehensive design of the procurement process, business reports, and a strategic dashboard exclusively catering to the needs of the procurement team. The culmination of my dedication and enthusiasm for the success of this venture earned me the esteemed accolade of a letter of appreciation from the delivery/program manager.

The intricacies of this software solution extended to the implementation of crucial interfaces with the SAP Materials Management (ERP) module. This integration enabled a seamless workflow encompassing tasks such as material master creation, material master updates, and purchase order generation and approval.

The benefits of this integration were substantial, notably enhancing data accuracy for cost audits and inventory forecasting. The scope of the deployed solution went beyond the initial implementation. It involved a comprehensive range of activities designed to optimize operations. This included standardizing existing inventories within SAP MM, devising an efficient process and reference data model for the management of MRO materials’ metadata, digitizing and overseeing supplier and product content, centralizing procurement procedures, and streamlining inventory and supplier management.

The positive impact of the solution reverberated through improvements in the procure-to-pay (P2P) process, resulting in optimized inventory and supplier rationalization. This achievement not only bolstered operational efficiency but also led to substantial multi-million-dollar cost savings for the client. These savings were realized through strategic procurement renegotiations, inventory consolidation, and the strategic pursuit of volume discounts.

Furthermore, my expertise was not confined to this particular engagement. I had the privilege of sharing my insights and experiences by training fellow consulting team members in Chicago. Their skills were honed to deploy similar solutions for other clients, leveraging the valuable experience gained during the implementation of this pioneering e-commerce and procurement solution at a global leader in the chemical industry.

1997-1998

I took on my first role in my corporate career of collecting and translating customer business requirements into comprehensive software customization specifications. This enabled me to delve into the intricate world of developing and implementing expansive applications, specifically Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solutions.

I got to steer a comprehensive software certification testing program geared towards ensuring compliance with Swiss market regulations. This endeavor entailed end to end integration testing across various process flows. I audited financial transactions postings in the General Ledger, from a spectrum of outbound logistics modules including Sales Forecasting, Purchasing, Accounts Payables, Inventory, Production Planning, Sales and Distribution, Shipping, and Accounts Receivables.

As part of a cohesive team, I was actively engaged in customizing ERP applications tailored to the requirements of both US and Swiss clientele. My contributions extended to critical tasks such as business process modeling and data mapping. Drawing upon my expertise, I conceptualized impactful features and collaborated closely with the engineering team to execute product customization that aligned with our clients’ needs.

A dynamic facet of my role involved orchestrating pre-sales product demonstrations and solution workshops for prospective clients. This interactive engagement allowed me to showcase the product’s capabilities and its alignment with clients’ unique requirements. Simultaneously, I extended my expertise through providing essential training and customer support services, specifically for outbound logistics applications encompassing shipping, sales, distribution, receivables, payables, inventory, and assets management.

My commitment to excellence extended to competitive product analysis and research, particularly in the realm of multi-modal transportation and Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) practices. Through meticulous analysis, I dissected outbound logistics application modules to conduct a comparative assessment against other leading products within the market. This multifaceted role granted me the opportunity to further my expertise across a spectrum of disciplines while contributing to the optimization of software solutions for a diverse clientele.
